In collaboration with Çağ University’s VR Lab, Beta Tea—Turkey’s pioneering tea brand in digital innovation—has launched a unique project bringing the journey of tea from leaf to cup into the metaverse.
Under the project titled “Building a Next-Gen Enterprise of the Company in the Metaverse,” Beta Tea's virtual presence has been established on the Second Life platform. The initiative blends traditional tea culture with cutting-edge digital innovation to offer a next-generation, sustainability-focused experience.
Through this immersive experience, users can navigate virtual tea plantations via avatars, participate in tea-picking simulations, and interactively explore the production process. From the history of tea to various types and production methods, the experience raises awareness while integrating cultural, educational, and technological dimensions.
A standout feature of the project is a specially produced 360-degree video by Beta Tea. Watchable via VR headsets, the video provides an immersive visual experience that allows users to witness the digital journey of tea from all angles—bringing the metaverse environment to life in an engaging and educational way.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—particularly “Quality Education” and “Partnerships for the Goals”—the project was developed through academic collaborations and professional input. Supported by Çağ University’s VR Lab infrastructure and academic staff, it serves as a model for digital transformation, combining education, culture, and technology.
