İlhan Karmutoğlu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Çağ University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Koç University, followed by a Master’s degree in Psychology at Çağ University, and a PhD in Sociology from Beykent University.

Her research focuses on social theory, social movements, sociology of culture, media and society, and social stratification. In her academic work, she engages with the sociological perspectives of Pierre Bourdieu, particularly exploring the concepts of habitus and capital, while also contributing to discussions on environmental movements and civil disobedience.
