We have successfully reached the end of the Virtual Worlds 2025–2026 Fall Semester course! This semester, the course was conducted collaboratively with Çağ University, Technological University Dublin, and Technical University of Kujnapoka, allowing students to participate in a variety of engaging and valuable activities.

Throughout the course, students received 3D modeling training, explored virtual Ability Island, and examined accessibility in virtual environments. Together with Dileia Lake, they explored the underwater world and studied the effects of global warming. Additional sessions included metaliteracy and digital citizenship, guided by Valyria Hill, among many other enriching activities.

From the very beginning, students worked in groups, conducting research related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As their final project, they transformed their research into interactive virtual spaces using 3D modeling and delivered inspiring final presentations.

The course emphasized the teacher’s crucial role in setting clear objectives, fostering collaboration, and creating a positive learning environment. Students also practiced sustainable habits, such as using less paper, choosing eco-friendly products, reducing palm oil consumption, and promoting responsible resource use. The course encouraged community-building activities like shared gardens and open-air libraries, highlighting the importance of knowledge sharing, public access to information, and empowerment through learning (aligned with SDG 16.10).

This semester was an incredible journey into the intersection of real and virtual worlds, and we look forward to continuing this experience in future semesters.

See you in the Virtual Worlds course next semester!
